T I Midwood's Topbrass Woodscrew

Top Brass Woodscrews require no pilot hole and are self starting because of their machined sharp sabre point, easily achieved due to the free machining properties of brass. The excellent corrosion resistance of brass means that this screw will not suffer from corrosion of the head and subsequent failure as zinc plated steel screws do.

Why T I Midwood Choose Brass

  • Brass is readily recycled without loss of properties

  • Brass swarf commands a premium price

  • Brass has excellent machinability which reduces tool wear

  • Brass is corrosion resistant

  • Brass is readily cold headed

Designed and patented by T I Midwood, the Top Brass Woodscrew screws directly into most wood types and plastics. The product incorporates a cross-recess double countersunk head eliminating head shear and the need for countersinking. These screws are ideally suited for power driven applications. Also available with slotted heads for traditional applications, the Top Brass Woodscrew has a parallel shank twin thread up to its head with a helix angle of 60° rather that the normal 40°. These features reduce the driving friction and resistance and subsequently the driving torque which results in less damage to the head recess. The increased helix angle reduces the actual insertion time and therefore the cost of assembly.
