Design for Manufacture in Cost-effective & Recyclable Brass

CDA Design Engineer, Ken Kempson, has been enlightening undergraduate design students around the country with his presentation 'Cost-effectiveness and Recyclability of Brass'.  Sponsored by the copper industry,  this lecture serves as an introduction to the versatility of brass.

The presentation covers the history of brass, the numerous manufacturing processes available for brass and the properties of brass.  Case studies illustrate the cost-effectiveness of brass and examples of brass components are available for the students to examine.

Each student takes home a pack of Copper Development Association technical publications and an increased awareness of the benefits of specifying brass.

The presentation can be downloaded here.
